The state of Illinois and the city of Chicago have a long and storied basketball history. And with the arrival the inaugural Chicago Elite Classic, an unique and ground-breaking event coming this December, the city of Chicago continues to add to the state basketball lore.

Whitney Young and Simeon, currently the two most powerful high school programs in the state of Illinois, have teamed up to form the Chicago Elite Classic, an event to be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 to host a collection of national high school basketball powerhouses from California, Maryland, Utah, Ohio, and Georgia.

As the first major basketball event of the season, the Chicago Elite Classic will display Chicago's superb talent with and against the nation's best teams with five games in one day on a national stage.

If you want to see some great basketball and great players, this will be the time to come out and watch.
